Fly Tying Fundamentals Part Three: Intermediate
Ready to move beyond the basics?
Part Three is the next step for members who have completed the introductory Fly Tying Fundamentals evenings, or who are already comfortable with the core skills and want to improve their tying.
Kossy will take the group into more detailed techniques, materials and fly construction methods. The focus will be on building cleaner, more durable and better proportioned flies, while introducing the skills needed to tackle a broader range of trout patterns.
This is where the earlier foundations start to come together. You will look more closely at material control, shaping bodies and wings, managing bulk, tying in more complex components and making the small adjustments that make a noticeable difference at the vice and on the water.
The aim is not simply to copy a few flies. It is to give you the understanding and confidence to sit down with a pattern, work out how it is built and tie it properly yourself.
