| Fly Tying – The Fundamentals – Part 1 | $0.00 |
Ever wanted to get into fly tying but weren’t sure where to start? Maybe you’ve tried it before and found it a bit fiddly, or you’ve got the gear sitting at home but aren’t yet confident with the basics. You might even have tied in the past and just want a good refresher.
This first Fly Tying Fundamentals evening is designed to get you started the right way.
Respected flymaker and VFFA member Richard Kos, better known as Kossy, will walk members through the essential tools and materials, how to use them properly, and, just as importantly, how to avoid buying a mountain of gear you don’t actually need.
Kossy will also demonstrate several simple fly patterns, giving members a clear and practical starting point for their own tying.
The evening is generously hosted by VFFA past president David Hooke and Jenny Phillips at the Botanical Art School of Melbourne, with wine and cheese available for members to enjoy.
Date: Tuesday 26 May
Time: 7:00pm
Location: Botanical Art School of Melbourne
Address: 1A Shipley Avenue, South Yarra 3141
Please enter via the Punt Road side path, on the left-hand side.
Fly Tying Fundamentals – Part Two will be held on Tuesday 16 June at the same location. This session will build on Part One, introducing more advanced techniques and fly patterns.
