End of Year Dinner with Malcolm Crosse
The VFFA is delighted to host Malcolm Crosse as our final guest speaker of 2020. Malcolm has had a highly decorated fly fishing career, having represented Australia at numerous World Fly Fishing Championships (including the 1990 winning team in Wales and as captain of the team in 1999 and 2000), been a board member and then president of Fly Fish Australia and also writing several esteemed books on fly fishing including "Australia's Best Trout Flies" and "Australia's Best Trout Flies Revisited". Malcolm was awarded a Life Membership for 'Outstanding Service' to Fly Fish Australia in 1998.
Malcolm has a wealth of knowledge on fly fishing in Tasmania and is currently Executive Officer for Anglers’ Alliance Tasmania (the body that assists in policy making with the Director and Minister for Inland Fisheries). He was also instrumental in Tasmania's successful bid to hold the 2019 World Fly Fishing Championships and an event organiser for the 2020 Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championships in Turangi, New Zealand. Malcolm will be joined by several other venerable fly fishers including Andrew Reed, Mark Aspinal and Steve Butler. This panel of speakers will provide a wealth of knowledge on all things fly fishing and some rare insights into the Championships. This is a very special event and we strongly encourage all members to attend.
