He regularly contributes to Philip Weigall’s digital FlyStream magazine.
He currently manages the VFA’s recreational fish stocking program, where he works closely with anglers to maintain and enhance fisheries across the state.
John is also a keen fly fisher, and as he lives in Alexandra on the Goulburn, has access to a number of local trout streams that he fishes regularly. He has also very kindly and obligingly become our VFFA fishing reporter on the trout fishing around Thornton and Eildon areas.
John has agreed to give a lunchtime talk at our April meeting. He writes:
“As discussed, I’ll be able to give an update on trout matters from the VFA perspective, can also give a little bit about the Codference if people are interested, and I may even be a bit cheeky and talk about some old research we did regarding trout and temperatures in lakes. This will be of interest and relevant to summer lake and stream fishing. Thanks for inviting me. I look forward to it.”
We look forward very much to hearing John again.
We need to inform the Kelvin Club of numbers for catering purposes, so members who plan to attend our April lunchtime meeting are asked to email Terry Rogers to indicate their intention to attend.
